What Is Bobtail Insurance?

Bobtail insurance covers you when you’re driving without a trailer, even if you’re still on a work-related trip.

Bobtail Covers:
• Driving with no trailer after dropping a load
• Traveling between loads with no trailer
• Heading to repairs without a trailer

Bobtail Does NOT Cover:
• Personal errands
• Driving with a trailer
• Cargo or physical damage to your truck

Simple rule: No trailer = Bobtail.

What Is Non-Trucking Liability (NTL)?

NTL covers you when you use your truck for personal, non-business activities. It applies whether the trailer is attached or not, as long as you’re off dispatch.

NTL Covers:
• Personal errands
• Driving on your day off
• Non-business trips

NTL Does NOT Cover:
• Anything that benefits your motor carrier
• Traveling to pick up a load
• Terminal-to-terminal driving
